Soup season is in full swing and this lightened up version is sure to grace your table many times after giving it a shot.
INGREDIENTS
½ lb ground turkey
½ lb italian sausage
1 onion
1 green bell pepper
6 cloves garlic
1, 15 oz can no salt added tomato sauce
1, 15 oz can no salt added diced tomatoes
1 pinch red pepper flakes
1 Tbsp. Italian Seasoning
1 c. Fresh basil, chopped
6 cups unsalted bone broth
6 ounces pasta
1 Tbsp. Italian Seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: shredded mozzarella cheese and croutons
Directions
- Brown the turkey and sausage
- Dice onion and bell pepper and add it to the pot
- Mince garlic and add it to the pot
- Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, pepper flakes, italian seasoning, basil, and bone broth and simmer for 20 minutes
- Add in pasta and salt and pepper to taste
- Serve with mozzarella and croutons as desired (not calculated in nutrition analysis)
