Whether it be a snack for your little trick-or-treaters or a spooky Halloween party treat, Market Street has you covered with these three frighteningly delicious recipes!
Rice Crispy Monsters
Ingredients:
- 16 individually wrapped premade Rice Krispies treats, or use your favorite homemade recipe and cut into rectangular shapes
- 24 ounces candy melts (in your favorite color, or use a variety of colors)
- Colored sprinkles
- Candy eyes in assorted sizes
Instructions:
- Unwrap the rice Krispie treats and place them on parchment paper.
- Place your sprinkles onto a plate or wide bowl and set by your working surface.
- Pour candy melts into a medium microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until the candies are melted through and smooth.
- Dip half of a Rice Krispie treat into the melted candy. Smooth out with the back of a spoon or spatula.
- While the candy is still wet on the Krispie treat, dip the top into the sprinkles or use a small spoon to add the sprinkles onto the Krispie treat.
- Add several candy eyes to the front of the Krispie treat before the candy sets (it will set quickly) and place them down on your parchment paper.
- Repeat with the remaining treats. Allow the monsters to cool before serving, enjoy!
Spider Cookies
Ingredients:
- Any type of cookie (store bought or homemade)
- Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups
- Chocolate Chips
- Candy Eyes
Instructions:
- Bake Cookies as directed. As you pull them out of the oven use a teaspoon measuring spoon to make divots in the middle of the cookie.
- Allow cookies to completely cool.
- Prepare your drizzle for the legs by adding a small amount of chocolate chips to a bowl and microwave them in intervals of 12 seconds until they are completely melted.
- Place Your Reese’s in the middle of the cookie where your divot is.
- Take your candy eyes and place a dab of melted chocolate on the back and stick to the side of the Reese’s.
- Use your chocolate drizzle to make spiders legs on the cookie.
Nutter Butter Ghosts
Ingredients:
- Nutter Butter Cookies
- White chocolate melts
- Mini chocolate chip morsels
Instructions:
- Melt the candy coating according to package directions being careful not to overheat the candy. If the candy coating is overheated, it will be too thick. If you accidentally overheat, add a small bit of shortening to help thin the candy. Do not add any other type of liquid though because it will cause the chocolate to seize and harden.
- Using a spoon or fork, drizzle chocolate over half of each cookie. Tap the cookie with your finger or a clean utensil to help the candy coating move into a smooth, ghostly shape.
- Insert two mini chocolate chip morsels (or mini candy eyeballs) for eyes.
- Place each cookie on wax paper to set. Allow chocolate to cool completely before storing or serving.
