Back to school is here and we’re here to help guide you on filling your pantry with nutritious and tasty foods that are perfect for your kids lunches and afterschool snacks. While this isn’t a comprehensive list these are staples we have on hand really at any given time and can be enjoyed during the whole day. As dietitians we are primarily focused on filling the bellies of ourselves and our families and guests with only the best options. With that in mind we all have a different starting point when trying to better our health. Keeping more nutritious staples on hand will not only help with eating better, but also less decision making when it comes to meals and snacks.

 

  • Freeze dried Fruits and vegetables
  • Dried Fruits
  • Fruit Pouches
  • Unsalted nuts and seeds
  • Whole grain or whole nut crackers
  • Nut butters
  • High Fiber Cereals
  • Canned Tuna or Chicken in water
  • Pre-popped popcorn
  • Black olives in cups
  • Fruit cups in 100% juice
