Prosciutto Wrapped Apples
Need a genius, no-cook, 3-ingredient recipe for the upcoming holidays? Yeah, you do!
Prosciutto Wrapped Apples and Gruyere is the recipe gift that will keep on giving this holiday season! Its quick assembly, filling ingredients and delicious results make it a recipe that can be used as a pre-party bite or even a “main” for a low-key weekday dinner.
The three ingredients are in the name: prosciutto, apples and gruyere. Since it is fall, Market Street has a variety of seasonal fresh apples from which to choose!
The sea of red has arrived in the Market Street produce department, which makes this recipe even more exciting. If you’re craving a tart and sweet apple—use Pink Lady. If you want an all-star with cheese, go with Fuji. If you desire candy-sweet, pick Honey Crisp. Or, if you want to have a bit of fun, choose a trio of all three varieties!
When it comes to selecting the prosciutto, there are two options: pre-packaged or deli sliced. This is up to you—but I will say, if you choose the deli, you’ll get to sample the prosciutto and that always makes for a tasty treat when shopping at Market Street!
Building these bites can also be an experience; grab a glass of chianti and turn on the tunes! You’ll be slicing, placing and rolling until all the ingredients are gone. Music helps with inspiration, especially when you begin to plate these salty and sweet treats; just place on a wooden board or plate for service. Don’t forget to add the remaining cheese and apple slices to the display, along with a few fresh herbs like rosemary and tarragon. It adds a pop of green and a lovely aromatic scent.
Wondering if you can make these ahead? Absolutely! The apples will be soaked in honey water for five minutes before preparation. Honey is acidic, which will keep the apples from browning. Once the apples are wrapped with prosciutto, place them into an airtight container, or cover tightly with plastic wrap on the serving platter. Place in the fridge and pull them out when you’re ready to serve!
“Fall” into the fun of seasonal feasting with the help of your local Market Street and their bounty of apples!
Prosciutto and Gruyere Wrapped Apples

If you’re serving a crowd, be sure to grab at least 3 packages of prosciutto. This recipe is make-ahead friendly. The apples will be soaked in honey water for five minutes before preparation. Honey is acidic, which will keep the apples from browning. Once the apples are wrapped in prosciutto, place in an airtight container, or cover tightly with plastic wrap on a serving platter. Place in the fridge and remove before service.
